Episode 1: Thousand Sons, News, Dune | The Knights Who Say Geek

Knights Who Say Geek Podcast Album Cover

It’s the first official episode of the Knights Who Say Geek. A Father and Son podcast about Warhammer and other geeky things.

Our previous episode was just an introduction to all the glorious geekiness you can expect from us. This is the first official episode where we attempt to follow some kind of structure while still keeping it relaxed and conversational. It’s our first attempt so don’t judge us too harshly 🙂

Brian (the Dad) is currently trying to build a Thousand Sons army so we decided to talk Thousand Sons. Harry (the Son) has been absorbing Warhammer lore for months but I have just started and even though the Thousand Sons is who I chose for my army, I got a few of the facts wrong. Luckily Harry was their to correct me.

We have been pretty upfront that we are a bunch of newbies and trying to figure it all out and Warhammer is far more involved and far more rich in lore than I ever expected so we are bound to stumble here and there.

After our 40K onversation we dive into some geeky news and talk about a few things we found to be interesting.

Finally, we talk about Dune! One of our segment ideas is called There and Back Again. Yes that name was stolen from the Hobbit but that’s okay! The idea is I am the Dad and grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. Harry is the son who grow up in the 2010 and 2020’s. We both love what we love but have experienced those things differently so we thought it would be fun to take a look at things that existed when I was younger and then recreated during Harry’s childhood. Our first attempt at that is to look at Dune through the ages and compare the previous attemps to the latest attemps. It’s fun to hear the difference in both of our perspectives of this epic story.
